Garrett returns for another go around in Thief: Deadly Shadows. As a young child, Garrett was caught stealing from a Keeper, a member of a secret organization, who are difficult to see, especially since they don't want to be seen. The Keepers sought to recruit Garrett into the fold, teaching him how to remain unseen and how to protect himself. Garrett, however, rejected the Keepers and thanks to their training became not just a good thief, but the best.

Now the one time Keeper Acolyte, turned thief, has found himself once again aligned with them. A Dark Age is approaching and Garrett finds himself entangled in the Keeper Prophecies. Garrett must use his skills to unearth clues and discover long hidden talisman, tomes, artifacts and writings that were not meant to be found and the further he delves into the mystery the more he uncovers of a deep, dark secret held for decades.

The City Garrett lives in is a mix of medieval magic and fantastical technology, poverty and nobility. Garrett will find himself exploring castles, mansions, museums, sewers and lairs and find himself face to face with the undead, religious fanatics and monsters that appear to have come straight out of a horror movie where an old nursery rhyme becomes a nightmare.
